hi,does anyone know where the cheapest place to get a cat for my subaru type ra import as i bought it a year ago and the person who sold me it had a fake mot so this time round for mot failed on emissions!ive been told by a garage it needs to be slighly bigger or slightly smaller than 3inches!help dont have a clue

What year is it mate?

The mot station i use has 2 cats welded into a centre section,and they run car in limp mode and it scrapes through.... :P


Alternatively look on auction sites for a standard exhaust system(there should be loads about for very little money)and do a swap for emision test ....

its a 2000 w-reg!someone suggested ragging it madly b4 taking it 2 mot station!!thanks for the idea mate!is it hard 2 get the cats that you welded on?

The cats used were from two standard centre sections,sounds to me you need to find a subaru specialist who will have there own mot approved garage that they use....


Ive got an original catted downpipe from a uk 99 that will fit yours and car should sail through emisions with it,your quite welcome to borrow it if you want,depends how far you are from me i suppose.P.m me your location and i may know of an mot station that is decat friendly ...

I'm replacing mine with a full decat soon. the back box is fukked but you are welcome to the rest of the system if you need it.
