Hiya,

When going round medium-fast small roundabouts my car tends to jerk round rather than go round smoothly, I have tried all sorts of different DCCD settings but it seems to be worse the more forward it goes...

Is my DCCD knackered?

Ricky, you banana - it's the driver not the DCCD :D:D:D

The further forward the DCCD wheel, the more strain you'll be putting on the DCCD on roundabouts - espcecially the tighter they get. Will be fine in the wet (within reason) but not great in the dry.

I suggest you put your right foot down further and you'll be alright - as you'll be so scared you won't notice the jerking :D:D:D

Hopefully doesn't end up the same as my P1 did at Castle Combe last year :D

Bloody 'ell Terry  .

Coombe's my favourite haunt and Ive had a few near misses. Where did this little excursion take place, Quarry?

BlueyZFR1,

PM Johnfelstead on Snet (he penned the DCCD info in BuyersGuide on here). He's very knowledgable and although I could have a stab at an effective answer his knowledge runs a lot deeper. Just C+P the link into his inbox and he'll be over to help I'm sure.

Cheers

J

with the centre diff control set to free (bottom green) you wont get any jerking caused by the LSD in the centre diff. If it is still jerky even with it set free, you may be getting some binding in the front or rear diffs.

Some Type RA's have a front plated LSD, others dont, they all should have a plated rear diff. You may be experiencing a bit of locking in the LSD in the front or rear. This can happen if you have the wrong oils in the box/diff, or you are lifting a wheel due to a stiff anti-roll bar setup.

No mate, just after the Esses - 1st chicane after Quarry.

I booted it too much to provoke oversteer and it did a 180 on me straight onto the grass on the outside of the circuit and side on into the armco. I have it on video too :D

Our next trackday at Combe is on Wednesday 31st May - you should come along mate :D

Cheers John,

excuse my ignorance what is a plated diff and how can I tell if I have one?
I will change the oil shortly.
