Hi All, just thought I'd pop in and introduce myself :D I'm Pele, I run KentScoobies and I killed my previous car and nearly myself just into the new year  I've had my RA for nearly 2 weeks now - bright red and mental to drive , I had a UK Turbo 2000 before, so it's just a bit different to drive
I have a few problems with this car, so I'm on the look out for advice - I run it on Tesco 99ron & OB, but it keeps hesitating whenever I accelerate, then leaps forward, usually around town, on fast roads it's fine and it doesn't seem to make a difference whether the tank is full or low and it's a lot worse in the morning - any ideas??

Thanking you in advance

Hello Pele,

Welcome to the site :D

May I ask that since your car is a red RA it's an MY 93 or 94?

Hello Pele :D

Does the car hesitate under load?

If so try the plugs first, if they're OK see if you can borrow some coil packs & try them. Mine was hesitating under load & I had 2 duff coil packs.

HTH

Also, post some pics in the members gallery - we need some red ones!!

I would say it points to coil pack/s. Have you any error codes coming up?

No it doesn't hesitate under load, just whenever it feels like it lol, usually under 3,000 revs and any gear - it's worse if I'm in town traffic where u have to stop start all the time & as you can imagine it's m aking the school run a nightmare lol
Haven't done an error code check yet

Couldn't get Tesco 99 ron last night, so had to put Optimax in with no Octane boost - this morning it's running fine, no hopping or skipping or hesitating!! So I might try another tankful when this one runs out and see what happens, if it runs fine then I'm staying with Optimax lol

Mine runs fine with Optimax but is not really keen on Tescos.

No misfires but just not as sweet.

Hopefully you've found your answer.

Well I think I've been converted back to Optimax lol - had a nice gentle school run without worrying about launching into the back of someone today
