Well, I've just had a couple of new mods done to the car.
It originally went into Paul at "Zen Performance" to have the air/fuel mixture checked as it was found on a recent dyno test that it was running very lean. As it happened, Paul pointed me in the direction of the Fuel Pressure Regulator and I discovered that the vacuum pipe had come off.
Whilst the car was there, the MAF sensor was replaced with one from a Nissan as these can read a bigger flow rate, the little intercooler was replaced with a nice big shiney FMIC and of course a re-map. Now I must say that I was sceptical whether the new intercooler would make any noticable difference, especially this time of year with the cold weather but beleive me, it makes a huge difference. I have retained the water spray which is now mounted behind the number plate but have not tried it yet as it completely slipped my mind until now.
I forgot to get the new PIAA horns fitted at the same time to replace the pathetic and quite honestly, embarrasing original ones which are now in-accessible, so I will just have to cut the feed and re-site the new ones somewhere.
If you are thinking of getting your scooby repaired or modded then give Paul a call at "Zen Performance". Not only will you get good honest advice but you will also get one of the best and knowledgeable Subaru engineers in the country.
I will post some pics of the FMIC when I get a chance.
