Hello peoples im currently looking at a sti type ra its metallic black with gold wheels its a version 5. the thing is its been registered by the first uk owner as a subaru gl (Naughty!) i would like to register it as the model it actually is.
Is this a major problem or can it be easily sorted. the car seems to be really nice all paperwork and all that.Apparantly goes like stink and drives relly nice, It can be seen on mirmotors.co.uk just really want to see what you guys think of the car. cheers! TurboTom

Subaru did not make any sti type ra in metalic black including the v5 range.........

You need to get the applied model code in order to see if the car is an sti type ra...

It should have roof vent,dccd,no abs,waterspray,no rear wipe or fog lights....and red top engine..and shorter gearing ....amongst other things.


Sounds to me this will be a non ra sti or possibly a 2 door sti type r...

Thats what i thought. it has a roof scoop and diff control red top engine they have added a spoiler on the back. could it have been resprayed? cheers

No folding seats - they have a solid rear bulkhead.

The car, if it is an MY97 had had a facelift from any MY99.

I need beter pics or go ther and look if this car have power steering cooling just behind AC and engine cooler is looks like aluminium U pipe and goes to power steering, if have AC an FAN panel like EU or if it is electronic, no mechanical position selection, buttons for int/ext ventilation and AC switch? If have DCCD? AND only short VIN like GC8F45000 much shtorter than EU VIN is and only one VIN plate on body near to dampers. Water spray where ABS on UK is and small water tank for wipers.

Very nearly made an expensive mistake(Was going to pick it up today!) just need to get my dposit back from them(Easier said than done) Cant believe anyone would sell a car as this spec when its obviously not. anyone know of any nice classic stis for sale? got about 7,000 to spnd.cheers

You should get a copy of the advert on the site & show it to trading standards if the wont pay you the deposit back.

The sti type ra version 5 limited models all where badged with a plaque in the car that states 555 wrc limited ***/1000.

The version 6 limiteds had a similar plaque.

There where no hidden models....the above cars have sales brochures.!!
