Hi everyone ain't posted on here much as my hunt for an RA still goes on.
Anyway i've just had some bad news from work and basiclly its the start of the end.
So i decided to look into starting my own buisness in the motor trade and go from there really.
So far i've bought quite a few EJ20 with bottom end gone, rebuilding them now, slowlly, but hay im depressed.:(
Scanning through ebay and found a closed deck engine with pistn ring gone? so i bought it, im planning on getting it up to 500BHP and enter the time attack comp. Maybe my buisness would go from there.
Im picking the engine up saturday so as soon as i get it home i'll post up some pics of the strip down and also the new parts as i fit them
Thanx Dylan.

500 BHP, Wow;) and on an out of work budget as well, that is going to cost a serious amount of £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

Some planning will not go wrong mate. I have been in that situation mate, decided to go on my own and setup a web development/consultancy business.
Was hardwork and nothing is ever easy but with some careful planning and budgeting I made a success of it. Ended up in the same situation recently though, up until beginning of Feb I was working for an automotive company (Subaru/Inchcape).
Decided to leave the sinking ship but managed to secure another role. I am still thinking about going on my own in the future, done over 12 years in IT and kind of tired of it.
I think what you would do well on is some development while your building your track car, any good solutions you come up with you can sell on to the Subaru community and might be worth breaking into other car brands (selling performance parts etc).
Best of luck mate, one advice I will give is do your homework. Even a little bit of knowledge and preperation will go a long way to making you successful.

You might want to build a box capable of taking 500 big ones as well :)
Can't wait to see this, never had a good look inside one of these lumps.

Ok so my ra hasn't arrived yet so i took this job on in the meantime, plus it'll help fund the wrc engine.
It's my mates pagero evolution, he's owned it for the last year.
He was off roading the other day and managed to loose oil which resulted in knocking bottom end:???:. I ain't done any work on a V6's before let alone a Mitzy V6, plus theres only a limited amout of info my mate has managed to find about this engine, so im playing this by ear.
Well this is where i am so far started this morning and it's ready to come out. Onlything is, my beam for lifting engines is too low and now im waiting on my builder to remove some blocks and raise it by 12".
