Can anyone tell me more about this car?

i recentley bought this car at i think a bargain price of £3000 but want to know more about the car as the onwer didnt seem to know much. what i know so far is it an import and is a 2ltr turbo apparntley putting out 300bhp. the guy said it was has the red top engine which yes sure enough looks red but how do i know its not been sprayed? lol so far i think what i have is a colin mcrae but i have no idea if its a replica or what. it has 555mud flaps and has the roof flap which looks like it was on there from factory and not bolted on. its also has the intercooler water spray. pulls away easily from the uk turbos as i found out last sunday lol. any more info would be great and sorry if i sound like a rite twat lol but if you ask me about volvo 440turbos i can tell you quite a bit hahaha. pics to come...

hi,
looks very clean ;-) looks like a v2 sti type-ra, not sure about McRae, does it have any emblems or badges? does it have DCCD?
the engine was resprayed, the original colour is not so glossy and usually peels away after some time... btw you can find out more from engine number.

hmm odd, why am i seeing the ariel on the rear quarter ??:???:

i thought RA`s had them on the A pillar, at least the STi`s do, so then again if it`s not a STi why has it got a roof scoop?

I'm 99.9% certain it's a 555 V-Limited V2 STi

Should have roof vent, but no DCCD & as Dunk says, ariel is on rear quarter.

The inlet manifold has been painted red on that one too.

The car also has a rear wipe ........agree with Dean the car is a V2 555 v-limited sti:)

ok thanks a million guys really needed to know exactly what i had here. so was £3000 a bargain price for this spec? i thought 3000 was a bargain for a scooby anyway specially for one as mint as this. is there anything else i should know about this?

£3000 is a good price mate :D
It's basically a V2 STi with a roof vent & limited to 555 units. I think they had the Speedline wheels as standard too.

oh right... ok thanks for the extra info scoob. now i know this is a bit off the topic but does anyone know any local cruise in or around the county of berkshire? ive tried signing up to scoobynet 4 time but i have never recieved the confirmation email...

never been into the cruise scene myself but there used to be a jap cruise/meet up in the car park possibly b and q by the football stadium in reading. Not sure what day - possibly 1st week of the month?

I met a guy there a few years back to buy an air filter off him and there was a good scooby turn out

cheers scoobyblue yeah i heard of that one its every 3rd tuesday of the month where all jap cars meets from 7pm till 9/10pm in the comet car park in reading beside the stadium. but im looking for more local ones to slough i know the other one is windsor cruise not much of a cruise becuase all they do is stare at each other lol. i only go to meet up with my old mates. :D

I've lived in Slough for the last 6 years or so (someone has to!!!! ) and I know there was something by mcdonalds on the A4 but not seen this for a while so i guessed it has been moved on or stopped.

Wasn't even sure if the windsor cruise/stare was still about. I used to come across it when I had my RS turbo about ten - twelve years ago but not seen anything recently.

haha your not the only one i live and have lived in slough all my life... top that haha. mind you im only 19 and proberley the only one my age in the area driving a scooby... legally that is :D never knew there was a meet beside maccy d's. yeah the windsor meet is still on see a fair few scoobs down there aswell bout 4/5. its not in the big car park anymore but the small one beside it. they put up bigger speed bumps down the big car park due to you know what haha.

cheers mate some people are supprised when i tell them it was £3000 saying that its cheap but then some say its exspensive??? n dat dey only last 4yrs den d engine goes blah blah blah... but what do they know? just jealous if you ask me hahah
