STi RA V5..

What are the 440 injectors good for power wise without stressing or maxing them out ?..
I'm planning on getting my car mapped with a sports-cat d/pipe - 2.5" exhaust, STi8 I/cooler, fuel pump and ported headers....
I've been told the 440's will suffice (by mapper) but others have said either to upgrade to 550's or fit a FPR with the 440's... My main concern is that if I get it mapped on the 440's , what will the IDC % be ?
I don't want to max anything out or go through the hassle of getting the map tweaked if either the FPR or 550's are needed after all.
Safety in mind and not chasing any figures.

Anyone shed some light on this or had previous experience..

cheers.

My spec:

93 type ra
255 pump/standard fuel reg
Standard TD05 running 1.23 bar
3" decat from turbo
Ported headers
Harvey smith uppipe
Front mount
Induction kit
Plastic box on inlet replaced with straight pipe
440 injectors
Simtek ecu

Not sure what my IDC is, maybe 80%

It made 324 on racinglines rolling road, on Tegsports it made 310 bhp. You should be fine with 440's I think. I would add a fuel reg as you can tweek the pressure up if need be. The STI should be able to run more boost than the ra due to the STI having forged pistons so your 440's may be getting close to there limit with a standard reg.

Thanks for the info received so far guys..much appreciated.

That's my worry, the mapper says i'll not need a FPR with the 440's but i'm concerned at what percentage the injectors will be running at.. I'm lead to believe anything under 85% will be ok ?

Not sure what to do tbh....i don't want to buy things i don't need but at the same time i don't want to get it mapped and find out the inj are nearly maxed out then end up having to fit either 550's or a FPR before another map tweak....

From my personal experience the 440's will be running at least 95% at 325.
at 330 they are literally right on the limit, this is without a FPR so fitting one of these will help a bit with duty cycles.
Personally anything over 320 and I would go for 550's, the less stressed everything is the better.

If it was me, I would at least buy a fuel pressure regulator. Like Ralph says, they are topping out at 330ish....
The alternative would be if the mapper tails off boost at the top end to reduce fuel requirements, but this would result in bhp losses!!!!

I've been told the 440's will suffice (by mapper) but others have said either

if the mapper is the guy who lives close to you i would be listening to him ;)

As Dunk says, if the mapper is AF then you have no worries.
If it is not then go to see him (or call him, he is very approachable) and get his opinion.

What is a good fuel pressure regulator to go for?

Get told so many different things by people on scoobynet, whereas you all seem to know what is what
