Im new to subaru and am looking to buy a spec c ra 2003 you had a great thread there for older vehicles but could you help or know where i can get info for the newer versions. There seems to be so many cars out there with bits of what you think are ra but other bits missing. Im looking at one with roof vent, water tank in boot, black interior but not sti badged, no central locking, no boot release inside car, brembo brakes, DccD.
I would appreciate any info.

Hello Charlie,

If you can get the applied model code we can tell you what the car is.

The code is on the VIN plate on the front NS suspension strut. It will be in the format GDBC4FH - or a variation of that.

according to the code you provided and what is listed in the Offiical website from Japan, it is a MY02 STI. The Spec C comes with GDBB4FH.

I agree with Valkyrie on the applied model code.

GDBB4EH is an MY02 STi. This would have no water spray, roof vent or DCCD.

Again, as Valkyrie says the Spec C applied model code would end FH.

All the bits say Spec C but the vin plate you gave us says STi.

I would not trust the apperance of the car. I think the Blob eye you mentioned refers to the MY03 V8. However the code suggests that it is a MY02 which should have Bug eye. I only believe the code.
