Hello.

I need to get fresh rotors and pads for the car, and my first stop was at my friendly mechanic. He is a TarOx dealer, so he's obviously pushing his TarOx stuff. Anybody have any opinions on the quality of their offerings ?

I liked my old brake setup on the RS in the USA. That had Racing Brake slotted rotors and Hawk HPS/HP+ pads (f/r). As such, I'm looking out for more slotted rotors, but not drilled, and pads that are equivalent to the Hawk HPS, HP+ or Ferodo DS2500. I know there's a place in town that does DBA rotors, so I was thinking of popping in to see them, too.

Bye for now,
Stuart.

I had tarox for years ago. First G88 disc front and rear they was able withstand Mintex 1155 race pads than I done big mistake and vent into semiceramic disc and sintered pads. Fantastic initial bite with OE 4 pot cast caliper like 330mm+ AP kit no fade. But after quick 5 120-140km/h to 10km/h stops heat from brakes get boiling brake fluid in caliper and overal quality this product was terrible. Lasted cca 8000km /broken ceramic pads on disc/ driven in town minimum half of this with my wife and Tarox offered me under warranty no thing more only 10% doscount if I buy same product again. So I really dont like it from this moment :)
Today I still drove Brembo 4pots + 2pcs 308disc from http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/ and if I be in your situation I would buy AP kit. Of couse you can get Tarox copy named D2 from Taiwan...

Well, I'm not likely to be doing any track days with this car anytime soon, since there's no track here. At most, I'm looking to try and get AutoX going here, but finding sites for that is proving difficult.

I'm looking for a streetable setup, so no race pads, since my commute every morning includes dropping the kids off at school.

Cheers,
Stuart.

i would save your money and put it toward buying some 4 pot brembos/oem discs and pads.

I'm happy with the current 4pot/2pot calipers, but I need new rotors/pads. Going to see what DBA have to offer and check in with the other place in town.
