View Full Version : Prospective buyer of Ra spec C
Hi
As a bit of a newcomer to the world of Impreza's I am looking for a bit of advice. I have seen a couple of 2001 JDM V7 RA Spec C impreza's advertised at Keighley Sports and Performance. I wonder what the difference is from a standard UK STI eg BHP etc. Plus what these cars are like to own and run and insure! Also has anyone bought anything from this company - what was your experience?
Cheers

Hi there,
I don,t think that company you have mentioned has a great reputaion, if you go onto Scoobynet and do a search, or a thread i,m sure people will give you there opinions.
Has for the car, yes they,re a great car, raw, a better car than the UK car, more power from standard for a start, with a map they,re an even better car.

I've seen these cars in the flesh & they are very, very rough!!
I actually went to look at the Bugeye RA with the carbon bonnet & it's a shed.
They did have some nice S204s though.

I too went to keighleys before buying my ra:confused:
i also went to alot of other import garages and to be honest alot of it was rough and were not what i was looking for, some of them hadent even been cleaned at some of the places i visited,i only went to these import places first because that was where i thought would be the best place to buy ,how wrong could i have been, dont get me wrong there are some good cars at these places at a very good price, its just finding them,in my opinion you are better buying private of someone whos looked after the car regardless of cost and owned it a few years. you will be able to tell this straight away when you find the right one.
trust me you will find on in the end ,but look at a few if poss to get a good picture:cheers:
cheers nathan

I've owned mine for 2 years, done 56,000km in it (116,000km now).
Can be a little loud with no underseal and thin carpet, but the handling and performance make up for it.
Don't know if you guys can import from New Zealand, but we get some nice ones here ex japan.
Mine is for sale at the moment:

i bought a 2003 sti v8 for 18,000 at the time it was 1 year old and i did not have a single problem with it .I had the car for over four years . I think the posts that you find on the internet are old but i must agree some of the cars are rubbish but the asking price is to high and does not take this in to account. Hope this helps .
