Was checking the water today everything seemed fine, apart from when i squeezed a few pipes,as i was doing this i can here a rattle from the water header tank took the cap off couldnt feel anything in there.its sounds like a stone or ball bearing moving up and down when you squeeze the large pipe from rad. should there be something in there or has it picked something up while engine works been carried out?
thanks in advance nathan:cheers:
Nathan.
Normally when you squeeze the radiator pipe,if its old you can feel that the tube is pretty hard, and that it sound like something is crackling inside,as for this rattling noise you can hear,I would suggest that you drain the coolant, and take out the radiator and the tubing, and carefully check that area.
Also check the header tank where you put the coolant, just to be on the safe side.
If the radiator pipes are hard then you need to change them, including the bottom one.
Are you putting in coolant also or just water!!
Keep me informned.

hi jason pipes are sound no problem,
its when i squeeze them and make the water move in the top header that something rattles in there....????
im sure ive never heard it before i will contact the engine builder tonight:mad:
I would definetly do that.
Dont even try to drive your car until this problem has been sorted out,it would not be adviseable.
If you have just spent decent money on the engine then just cover your back and get the mechanic to come to you.
Keep me informned.
Cheers

spoke to the subaru specialist who rebuilt my car im taking it in tommmorrow this is what he said.
"Should not be anything in header tank but also there is a metal
valve in there that releases pressure from rad."
i have his backing all the way so not to worry.

regards nathan
Hey Nathan.
Regards to the mapping.
Some spanish friend of ours who live in Barcelona, told me of an English guy who is able to re-map with a portable.
Also I heard that he deals in a ecu called Hyrda or something in that manner.
Apparently its made in italy, but I still have not forgot about Andy Forrest,so I will keep my options open, besides I wont do anything until after the summer when I have got time.
